Lake Murray Sailing Club (LMSC) is proud to be a part of the communities surrounding Lake Murray and of the greater Columbia community that looks to Lake Murray for recreational opportunities. Like many of you, we view ourselves as joint custodians of this vital resource and would like to offer others the opportunity to see it from our perspective as recreational sailors.

Whether cruising, racing, or just knocking about in a dingy, the only thing that makes us as happy as when we are sailing is sharing our experience and passion for the sport with others. Sailing combines aesthetics, relaxation, excitement, athleticism, self discipline, and appreciation of environmental interactions in a way afforded by few other recreational activities on our planet.

We believe that, by sharing our resources, as an organization dedicated to promoting the sailing experience, we can do much to support and strengthen commonly held community values. With this sense of sharing in mind, we offer selected programs at various times during the year that are available to non-members. Sailing Instruction

Throughout the year, LMSC schedules one-day sailing "orientation" clinics aptly named "Introduction to Sailing." These include a short classroom session and on the water coaching with an experienced club sailor. We also offer the "Start Sailing Right" classroom & on-the-water clinic leading to US Sailing certification. If you are interested in learning to sail but have had little or no opportunity to experience the activity, this is your chance. Youth Sailing

From June 11 through August 11, youth 7 years and older may attend LMSC's one week sessions of half day sailing lessons conducted by a US Sailing certified instructor.
